Lebanese archeology eaten by negligence not time

A simple visit to various archeological locations is enough to reveal the tragic and sad status of many historic locations that suffer from an overgrowth of vegetation, lack of proper maintenance and follow-up by the authorities.
Most archeological sites were last maintained by the state in 1995. Since then many have sadly turned to become dumpsters.
The ministry of culture's budget is only 0.05% of the government's budget and very little of that goes towards marinating archeological and historic sites. Various municipalities also fall short in terms of doing their share in up-keeping our rich history. In the midst of this heavy tourist season one question remains clear, does anyone care?
