Many Arab readers were shocked when a French website featured an advertisement for a pornographic film starring the Lebanese artist Haifa Wahbi. The French site usually features European and American stars, but it was the first time for a star from the Arab world.

The site featured a biography of Haifa’s work, and under the list of her clips and live concerts there was a pornographic film listed.   The ad featured pictures of Haifa from the film, but the male star was not mentioned.   He site asked for payment to view the film.

On the other hand, Haifa sued her Lebanese colleague Rula Saed, her previous manager Karim Abi Yaghi and the journalist Nidal Al Ahmadyeh for saying that she stared in a pornographic film, trying to ruin her reputation. The Lebanese court dismissed the case.
